The reflected light is directed at 30° to the normal Snell's law gives us the refraction angle for the na-n1 interface .
nasin(θ1)=nl sin(θ1)
Hence ,θ1=19.5°.The angle of light incident upon,and reflected from, the substrate layer is also19.5°.
Applying Snell's law agiain gives the refraction angle for the light passing into the substarte.
Hence,θl=24.6°.Light reflecting from the substrate is incident upon the air at an angle of 19.5° and the refraction angle is 30°.
Evaluating the expressions given for the reflection and transmission coefficients gives,
The intensity of the ray which reflects from the first interfaced or transmitted ray may reflect from the second interface and in turn ,be transmitted through the first, The total for these first two possible rays is 0.27I
Now the problem is to sum the intensities of all possible reflected rays.Simplifying our notation to R0=0.04,
