“在外面吃饭” 并不是"eat outside"~这个差别你一定要清楚！

out和outside都是很简单的词汇，看起来也差不多，但小编今天要告诉大家，这两个看起来很相似的单词，其实真的不一样！！

 

首先，outside是一个比较具象的词，一般指在建筑物或空间附近的外面。答比如说He is outside的意思是他在办公室外面，不在里面，可能在外头抽烟、聊天；Out 比较抽象，而He is out.是他不在办公室，不知道在哪，也有可能下班了。

 

两句话字面看起来差异不大，但含意不同，对方领悟自然也有差：

 

He is outside. 在外面。（应该很快回电。）

He is out. 出去了，不知道会不会回来。（可能不会很快回电。）

 

另外常常不小心弄错的还有 eat outside 和 live outside，看看下面两个句子：

 

我们常常在外面吃。

（X） We always eat outside.

（O） We always eat out.

 

我住外面。

（X） I live outside.

（O） I live by myself.

 

字面上差一点，意思却差很多。所以说呢，eat outside 意思是在户外吃，live outside 意思是不住房子里，可能住在公园、草地甚至森林，如果要表达自己住外面，应该要说 I live by myself。
