2020年AP世界历史考试将发生重大变化！

2020年AP世界历史的考试时间将集中在1450年后的时间，也就是现在AP世界历史大纲的4-6个阶段。其前面的1-3个阶段（1450年前的内容）将在2020年的考试大纲中去掉。有些1-3个阶段的后面内容衔接的部分也会在后面的时期有关联的地方，也会在4-6个阶段中被涉及到。比如宗教，如果没有很好的理解之前的宗教，后面的内容就很难理解。因为西方文化的核心就是宗教，而且宗教如果没有了解起源，后面的内容理解起来非常困难。由于去掉了3个阶段，在主题方面也可能会有所修改。但目前还没有公布。

考试方式和AP美国历史、AP欧洲历史的题型和评分标准是一致的。从AP美国历史改革的几年来看，考试侧重提高了使用历史分析政治、经济和社会文化方面的内容。而不是要求学生死记历史事实。AP世界历史的改革也是出于这种考虑，减少时间内容，而是要增加对历史问题的分析。由于CB推出了Pre-AP World history and geography, 前3个阶段可以让学生在Pre-AP阶段完成。我一直认为历史不应该是一年的课程，尤其是高中生在社会阅历、分析能力、英语水平方面都有差距的情况下，很难用一年时间完成好历史学习。

2020年AP世界历史时间也要追求细节了，因此在备考过程中注意三个时间段（主要是近现代）的时间、空间、主题。

In response to valuable feedback from AP teachers, we’re making changes to AP World History in 2019-20 that better align it with the scope of content that most colleges and universities cover in a single course.

These changes will help give students more time during the school year to develop understanding through sustained focus on key concepts and practice of essential skills.

What’s changing, and why?

Beginning in the 2019-20 school year:

• The AP World History Exam will assess content only from c. 1450 through the present (Periods 4–6).
• The exam format and rubrics will stay the same, in alignment with the other two AP history exams.
• Some content (i.e., world religions) from Periods 1–3 will be reviewed in Periods 4–6.
• Some content clarifications will be provided.

The current AP World History course and exam cover 10,000 years of history across all seven continents. No other AP course requires such an expanse of content to be covered over a single school year. AP World History teachers have told us over the years that the scope of content is simply too broad, and that they often need to sacrifice depth to cover it all in a single year.

Colleges and universities typically do not cover all of world history in a single course, but in two or more separate courses. Additionally, most colleges only provide one course credit for AP World History even though the current course covers the scope of two or more college semesters.

What about early world history?

Early world history is crucial, and students need time to explore it in depth. Ideally, the 10,000 years of history covered in the current AP World History course should be taught over two school years.

To cover early world history at the right depth, schools might consider offering world history as two separate year-long courses:

1. Pre-AP World History and Geography,where schools could choose units focusing on the three earliest historical periods:
   • The Ancient Period, Before 600 BCE
   • The Classical Period, c. 600 BCE to c. 600 CE
   • The Postclassical Period, c. 600 CE to c. 1450
2. AP World History, where schools could focus on world history since c. 1450:
   • Global Interactions, c. 1450 to c. 1750
   • Industrialization and Global Integration, c. 1750 to c. 1900
   • Accelerating Global Change and Realignments, c. 1900 to the Present

While AP World History teachers can continue to include early world history in their AP course to fulfill local standards or personal preferences, the AP World History Exam starting in 2019-20 will assess content only from c. 1450 to the present (Periods 4-6).

What’s next?

In 2019, we will share an updated course and exam description (CED) for the 2019-20 school year, along with updated AP Summer Institutes and brand-new support materials for teachers and students.

AP World History teachers will not be required to submit an updated syllabus through the AP Course Audit, but will simply confirm their awareness of these changes through a short attestation on the 2019-20 AP Course Audit form.

2019年AP世界历史的考试内容

和现行AP美国历史和欧洲历史一样，改革后的AP世界历史将包括单选题、简答题、DBQ和长essay。

第一部分： 单选55道55分钟，占总分的40%，所有题目的都是给材料的选择题。

第二部分：简单题4道50分钟，占总分的20%。不需展开论述。

第三部分：DBQ1道60分钟，占总分的20%，需要使用6-7个材料论证match题目的观点。

第四部分：长Essay2选1，35分钟，占总分的15%，详细论证一个问题。

不同于AP美国历史考的比较细致，AP世界历史时间跨度长，但是不追求细节，因此在备考过程中注意时间、空间、主题三个要素。

AP世界历史要注意的内容

1. 不同于AP美国历史考的比较细致，AP世界历史因为国家很多更侧重考察整体的东西。

2. 五个主题任然可以按照AP美国历史那样分成政治、经济和文化与社会。把这个五个主题集合到世界发展的各个阶段。

3. AP世界历史的评分标准基本上和AP美国历史和AP欧洲历史是一致的。
