1赛事介绍
一年一度的John Locke Essay Competition(约翰·洛克论文学术活动)的评委由牛津大学教授组成。每年暑期,学术活动吸引了全球最擅长思考和写作的中学生。往届优胜者遍布哈耶普斯牛剑世界名校。
比赛分为15岁-18岁的高年级组和15岁以下的低年级组。高年级组的参赛题目涉及政治、哲学等7个人文社科领域,共二十一个可选题,15岁及以下的低年级参赛者的写作题目是五个有趣的跨学科话题。
极高含金量、世界性奖项、免费参与、获得学术论文写作经验,这些是准申请生不可错过此项比赛的理由!

参赛要求
1.个人参赛,各个国家、各个学校的学生都可以参加;
2.参赛者年龄:15-18高年级组,参赛者在截止提交稿件时不得超过18岁;15岁以下低年级组,ddl时不得超过15岁;
3.每篇文章只需回答所选主题类别中的一个问题,且不得超过2000字;(不包括图表、数据表、脚注、参考书目或作者声明);
4.以pdf附件格式提交,附件的标题应为姓氏拼音、名字拼音,如POPHAM, Alexander。
适合人群
对Philosophy, Politics, Economics, History, Psychology, Theology and Law等人文学科方向感兴趣、或是想展现自己人文特质的理工科学生。建议托福105+,或有着较好的英文阅读、表达能力。

奖项设置
来自牛津大学的资深教师担任评委。每年学术活动会评选出一篇最佳文章(Best Essay)。
高年级组以每个话题为单位(哲学、政治、经济、历史、心理、神学、法律),每个话题会评选出优秀上榜文章,并从中选出一、二、三等奖(学科奖)。低年级组为一个参赛单位,评选出优秀上榜文章,并从中选出一、二、三等奖。只有以上这些上榜文章的学生会获得参赛证书。
一般情况下,截止日期后的一个半月公布优秀上榜文章(去年为2021年7月14日)。John Locke Institute有举办学术研讨会暨优秀文章颁奖晚宴的惯例,邀请这些优秀学生到牛津参会,每个话题的一、二、三等奖和最佳文章会在晚宴当天公布(2022年具体安排未更新,可能因疫情等原因暂定)。
