OK, I’ll tell you about the IAs. So for music, if you’re an SL student, you do one less project. Then if you’re an HL student, you have to do a composition project.

关于音乐IA： 如果你是SL音乐生，你可以少一项ia的project。 如果你选择的是HL，那么你就需要完成作曲的任务。

Well, that’s when you compose a piece of music. The interesting thing about that is, you can say the good thing about that there’s no specific rule. You can do a freestyle composition, whatever you wanna compose. Or if you’re not comfortable making up your own style of composition, you can follow some of the techniques we studied, like sonata form, or fugue.

You can do different pieces. You can do one instrument that you’re good at, comfortable with, that’s what they recommend actually. So the teacher gives the final mark. And then they get sent to the IBO and they check whether they agree with the teacher. Sometimes they give a little lower. Sometimes they give a little higher. Mostly within the same range.

你可以表演不同作品。当然你可以选一个你最擅长的乐器进行表演。老师会给你的表演一个最终分数。之后表演的视频会上交到IBO。IBO会检查，他们的评价是否与老师给予的评分一致。他们的给分有时会比老师的评分稍低，有时会稍高一点。但大多数情况都不会有太大落差。

Now, I’m recollecting this, It’s possible that I might forget some small detail. But I’m at the top of my head. I wish I drink a coffee right now, that I would remember. But yes. That’s a big difference. It’s the…for internal assessment, you have to study composition, if you’re an HL student. If you’re an SL, it’s not mandatory. You don’t have to do it. And everybody does a solo performance which is recorded, I marked it and then it’s sent to the IBO.
