德克萨斯州居民来说，如果你在高中排名前10％，你就有资格获得大多数德克萨斯州公立大学的录取。德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校的学校要求稍高一些，需要德州高中新生申请者中排名前6％才能保证入学。国际学生满足在德州4年学习时间，也适用于此原则，这也是德州奥斯汀越来越难录取的原因之一。
休斯顿大学，还提供了如下保证录取条件：
班级中排名前11-25％并且SAT上1080分或在ACT21分以上的；
班级中排名前26-50％并且SAT1170分或在ACT24分的以上的；
对于加州居民来说，如果高中排名前9%，可以进入任何一所加州大学分校。
上述大学的Guaranteed Admission 政策除了个别仅针对本州学生适用外，大部分适用于外州和国际学生，这对于部分GPA和SAT\ACT准备不够充分的申请者来说， 不失为一种适当的选择。从更长远来讲，了解这些录取政策，对于美高的规划也有重要的参考意义。
