UCL Undergraduate Preparatory Certificate for Science and Engineering (UPCSE)

is for students aiming to study degrees in Engineering, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physical Sciences or Medical Sciences.

UCL Undergraduate Preparatory Certificate for the Humanities (UPCH) is for entry

into Arts, Business and Mathematics-related degrees. Humanities or Social Sciences,including Economics and Law.There is also an option to study either course with Architecture for students intending to apply to Architecture degrees.

• You will be over the age of 16 at the start of the course

• You will be a high-achiever in a 12-year school system which does not meet the standard required for direct entry to UCL degrees UPC courses are not suitable for international students completing their secondary education with qualifications which allow them direct entry onto a UCL undergraduate degree programme (e.g. with the full IB Diploma or A levels). Please view UCL'sUndergraduate Prospectus to check which qualifications are accepted, by degree programme.

UPC applicants who require a visa to study in the UK, must have an IELTS for UKVI taken at a test centre approved by UKVI. You need to fulfil the minimum English entry requirements for the course before you can receive an offer. If you do not require a visa. you should provide an English language qualification recognised by UCL.

There is no deadline； applications close when the course is full. You are advised to
apply as early as possible.

In-country entrance tests

A UPC Admissions Tutor will be visiting Russia, Turkey and China to test and interview suitable UPC applicants on the following dates.

• Istanbul: 23rd and 24th February

• Beijing; 9th and 10th March (TBC)

• Moscow: 16th and 17th March

• Shanghai: 16th and 17th March (TBC)

Submit your complete Undergraduate Preparatory Certificate application by the following dates to be considered for the in-country entrance tests dates.

• Istanbul: 8th February

• Beijing: 31st January

• Moscow: 1st March

• Shanghai: 31st January

Applications will be assessed after the above deadline and invites will then be sent tosuitable applicants.
