Part 1:万众瞩目的新题季轰轰烈烈到来啦~ 本次part1新题不多,只有9个,换题量30%左右,基本符合以往惯例。本季度汪老师建议大家关注一下perfume这个话题,学生在回答时很容易被词汇所限制,一定要做一些功课。比如使用香水,除了use之外,外国人比较喜欢说wear perfume,喷香水可以说apply perfume;而我们日常喷香水的位置是手腕处at pulse points, 耳后behind the ears, 颈后the nape of the neck等。闻起来很棒可以说 it smells good 或者 it really smells incredible;it has a pleasant scent等等。
此外,男生所使用的香水可以泛称为古龙水,也就是cologne。本题对于从来没有用过香水的学生来说完全可以不给出正向答案,但是要给出不使用香水的原因,或是讲讲他人使用香水的经历;也可以说自己现在不用,但也许将来出于某种目的会用,通过情况对比或时间对比来进行扩展。
Part2:不得不提的是,本季度part2是近几年内题量最大的一次,总话题数达到了63!对于从上个季度就开始准备的考生而言,本季新题数为24题,约占40%,压力不算太大,但对于新烤鸭,这个题量就需要更多付出和努力了。整体来看,新题中的难题还是有一些的,比如在公共场合接到陌生人电话的经历、车辆故障、历史建筑等等。今天我们就稍微说一下接到陌生人电话这个话题。在正式下笔撰写素材之前,可以做一个brainstorming,这样的电话有几种可能性:
打错电话(dialed the wrong number)这个不推荐,很难扩展2分钟;
诈骗电话(phone scams)这个还是很好说的,不管是loan scam还是fake police calls都很能说出跌宕起伏,相信大家都接到过“明天来办公室一趟”之类的电话吧。哪怕没有,网上也有不少案例可以参考;
淘宝店铺客服电话(customer service)这种话题可以串物品和事件类,客服打来告知你期待了很久的商品的一些情况,你是失望还是高兴……
考试建议
正如之前所说,本季度题量较大,需要考生一步一个脚印各个击破。绝对不要怀有侥幸心理,认为“这个估计考不到我就不准备了”。口语关键在于输出。中国考生拥有全球其他国家没有的优势——口语机经,那么我们就更应该珍惜这个机会,把题库的问题都练到至少一遍。如果时间实在不够,也要保证核心素材经过2次以上训练。总而言之,祝福各位五月换题季考试的烤鸭们,旗开得胜,前程似锦!

点评:本场考试题型仍然比较常规化:单选,配对,填空。S4难度偏大,出现了较多同学们不熟悉的词汇,如saliva/ microscope等。s1部分的基础信息题出现了地名拼写及数字听写,其中数字播报速度较快,对数字不敏感的同学一定要加大练习。本次考试虽然三新一旧,但整体难度比较平缓,没有出现难题偏题。建议学生在接下来的备考中,一定多提高听力基本功,提高语速。

备注:在接下来的备考中,选择题(尤其是单选和配对)仍然是重中之重,同时加强多留意多选题的练习。考生们可以选取剑桥真题的类似组合着重训练,记得多总结以及同义替换的积累。在练习听力的过程中,由于s1/4的难度有所提升,注意适当提高语速,平时练习时可加至1.25-1.5倍速练习。基础信息题部分强调对数字练习的听写练习,注意连读/吞音等特殊发音现象。

场景方面:场景方面依旧是主流场景(咨询、旅游、课程讨论、讲座),在接下来的考试中,考生还应将重点放在S1求职,租房,S2旅游,活动及公共场所设施介绍,S3课程讨论及论文写作,S4动植物,环境,历史,学术等各类学术讲座。
机经:如需参考机经,以2012-2017年机经为主。

小作文:饼图+柱图大作文:Some people think the increasing use of technology in the workplace is good for young people’s prospects of gaining job and harder for old people. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Task 1:饼图+柱图注意:
1.饼图需注意观察和描述图中各区域之间的百分比差异,以及相同区域在各饼图之间的百分比变化或发展;

题目翻译:一些人认为在工作中越来越多地使用科技对年轻人的就业前景很有好处而对老年人来 说则更难。你在多大程度上同意或不同意这个说法?

Introduction:
Conventional thinking assumes that elder workers have trouble adapting to new technologies and many of us even visualize elders who cannot find their way around a keyboard and have to ask the young what APP is. I believe this notion is nothing more than a stereotype which is inaccurate.
传统思维认为,年长的工人难以适应新技术,许多人甚至可以想象那些无法在键盘上找到方向的老人,不得不询问年轻人app是什么。我坚信这是一个不准确的刻板评价。
Body 1:
People claim that elder employees need more time to have a good command of new technology at work since they would learn less and remember less than younger employees. Unfortunately, this is not true. In fact, the elder adults’ cognitive performance is more consistent than that of the younger workers. Elder workers’ wealth of experience enables them to design strategies to solve problems in order to learn new things.

Besides, elder employees are less likely than their younger colleagues to find using technology in the workplace stressful. When looking at younger generations in the workforce, a large proportion of them are used to using technology in their personal lives, which raises the expectations of that technology can be in their professional lives. However, they do not always achieve that level of clearness and proficiency at work, so they could feel a sense of frustration at tools that are not up to snuff. In contrast, elder people who have been working longer usually are more tolerant for technology that may not always be as good as it might be.
此外,老年员工不会像年轻同事一样体会到使用科技的压力。当我们观察职场中的年轻人,很大一部分人习惯于在生活中使用科技,这提高了他们对科技在工作中扮演角色的期待。然而,他们并不能一直在工作中获得清晰度和熟练度,因此他们会因为达不到预期而沮丧。相比之下,工龄更久的老人通常对科技的欠缺更宽容。
Body 3:
More importantly, elder workers bring skills to many jobs that younger workers cannot duplicate. Even if their detailed technology savvy is not as good as those of the 20-year-olds, they bring different skills of great value to the table. In most cases, elder workers’ productivity is more consistent than younger workers because their motivation is higher than the younger workers’ and they are more stable and less erratic. Experience helps older workers compensate for the physical and mental changes that accompany aging.
更重要的是,年长的工人将技能逮到了许多年轻工人无法复制的工作岗位上。即使他们的科技使用能力不如20岁的人那么好,他们也会带来不同的技能。在大多数情况下,老年工人的生产率比年轻工人更加一致,因为他们是更有动力的一群人。此外,他们更加稳定。经验帮助老年工人弥补了衰老等身心变化。
Conclusion:
To conclude, elder workers can learn high-tech skills if they are given the opportunity and incentive to do so and it is a real mistake to conclude that they cannot. I believe even if in the era of technology, there are more to consider when it comes to a promising career.
总而言之,老年工人如果有机会和动力就可以学习高科技技能,断定他们做不到,是一个很大的错误。即使是在科技时代,当涉及到有前途的职业时,还有更多需要考虑的因素。

P3 future predict相关整体分析:涉及生物类(P1)、艺术类(P2)与心理类(P3)主要题型:本场阅读又上了微博热搜,学生考完普遍表示较难,原因在于出现了大量的乱序题型。
本次考试主要考察配对题(20题),填空题(13题),判断题(4题)和多选题(3题)。本次考试P1命中了我们上周预测的生物类话题,出现了近年频繁考察的段落信息匹配题,并且量大(9题)容易把学生心态做崩,但是P1总体难度适中。
P2是常规搭配形式,但是语言难度很高,学生普遍认为较难。
P3 涉及到的专业术语较多,对定位要求高,最后三道多选提高了区分度。很多同学在时间紧迫的情况下,很难读懂并定位,做出相应的题目。
P1 otters水獭文章大意:文章主要讲了水獭的生活习性,鼻子很灵像狗一样但是视力很差,不过不影响它捕鱼,性格害羞不喜欢群居,虽然食物充足但是不会去很远的地方捕食。
