A full day of Jazz exploration

This week the Music Department welcomed Roy McGrath and his Jazz Quartet into school, for a full day of Jazz exploration; culminating in a wonderful Concert in the Mei Lan Fang Theatre. During the day, Roy and his band delivered workshops to our and iGCSE classes, masterclasses to our experienced Senior School students, a Music Maestros assembly to all of years 5 and 6, a ‘Hello to Jazz’ assembly for Reception, Year 1 and 2 at DUCKS and rehearsed with our Senior School Big Band in preparation for the evening concert. A busy day indeed! All the students enjoyed their time and lessons with the Jazz band and learnt a lot from their ‘Jazz experiences’. We hope to welcome Roy back to school in the future!
