Deck the halls and call Buddy the Elf—the holiday season is upon us at SAS! Here at the theatre department of our Pudong campus, however, it’s been looking like Santa’s workshop for months. Elementary, middle, and high school divisions combined this year for a production of epic proportions, and there’s no better show to get us in the holiday spirit and remind us to be true to ourselves than “Elf, The Musical.”
“We had an incredible cast of over 90 students, a crew of more than 15, many musicians, and just about every performing arts teacher at the school,” said Director Josh Hatt. “Luckily we were working with world-class humans who all believed in an incredible show.”
Roller blades for ice skates, Santa, cheer-filled songs, maple syrup, tap dancing, snow falling on the audience, a sprinkling of magic, and loads of Christmas cheer were in store for our community last weekend. And now if you notice us walking around Shanghai singing loud for all to hear, you know why.
